 Our Story

Four Decades of
Growing Bardhaman

Founded in 1982, Bardhaman Horticulture Center began as a modest nursery with a clear purpose: to put better planting material and practical knowledge in the hands of farmers across Bardhaman district.

Over the decades, we have grown from a small sapling operation into a full-service horticulture enterprise — offering nursery stock, soil testing, floriculture, vegetable production support, and on-farm technical advisory. In 2014 we became a branch of Samiun Agromarine LLP, which broadened our resource base and opened new partnerships across the agri-marine sector.

Today BHC serves smallholder farmers, commercial growers, and institutions alike, with a team that combines traditional horticultural expertise and modern science.

Our Mission & Vision

What drives us every day and where we are headed as an organisation.

Our Mission

To provide farmers, agri-businesses, and institutions across Bardhaman and West Bengal with the highest-quality horticultural planting material, reliable agronomic knowledge, and practical on-farm support — so every grower can achieve better yields, healthier crops, and more sustainable livelihoods.

Our Vision

To be West Bengal's most trusted horticulture enterprise — recognised not just for the plants we supply, but for the knowledge we share, the relationships we build, and the measurable improvement we bring to the farming communities we serve. We envision a Bardhaman where every farm has access to quality inputs and science-backed guidance.

 What We Stand For

Our Core Values

The principles that guide every decision we make at BHC.

Sustainability

We promote practices that protect soil health, conserve water, and ensure that the land remains productive for future generations.

Quality

Every sapling, seed, and piece of advice we deliver meets rigorous standards so farmers and buyers can depend on us completely.

Community

We are rooted in Bardhaman. Our growth is measured by the prosperity of the farming communities we serve alongside us.

Innovation

From modern nursery techniques to data-driven soil analysis, we continuously adopt better methods to improve outcomes for growers.

Integrity

We give honest, science-based guidance. If a crop or practice is unsuitable for a particular farm, we will say so plainly.

Partnership

We believe the best results come from long-term relationships — with farmers, institutions, and our parent company, Samiun Agromarine LLP.
